The megaregion, anchored by Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin, is one of the fastest-growing economic corridors in the United States, home to more than 20 million people and a freight-and-passenger movement system under mounting pressure to perform. In response, the Texas Department of Transportation developed the Texas Triangle Multimodal Strategic Plan. This landmark effort to understand, evaluate, and strengthen the full spectrum of mobility options connecting this vital region. This presentation highlights three innovations that set the plan apart as a model for multimodal strategic planning in high-growth megaregions.
