Open – Call for Presentations

The South Carolina Department of Transportation invites transportation professionals and industry leaders to submit presentation proposals for the 2026 SASHTO conference in Greenville, South Carolina.

At SCDOT, we're proud of the bold steps we're taking to move South Carolina forward, and we are committed to bringing that spirit of progress and momentum to the 2026 SASHTO technical program!

Scope for Proposals:

The SASHTO conference brings together transportation experts and innovators to share insights, research, and best practices. We welcome presentations that explore innovative ideas, emerging technologies, and infrastructure strategies shaping the future of transportation.

Proposals should emphasize measurable impacts and replicable models that other state agencies and transportation professionals can learn from or adopt. Potential focus areas include:

• Strategic Planning & Managing Growth: Strategies for managing the increased demand for transportation infrastructure due to population growth and industry/freight movement.
• Multimodal Transportation Planning & Public Transit Innovations
• Transportation Asset Management: Strategies, implementation, and lessons learned related to plans and policies to improve asset performance, resilience, and longevity.
• Intelligent Transportation Systems: Selection, implementation, and maintenance of technologies to improve the management and efficiency of transportation networks.
• Policy Legislation and Funding Strategies: Transportation funding strategies and legislative policies that influence transportation planning, project delivery, and long-term infrastructure investments.
• The Future: Emerging trends in transportation engineering & construction, modernization, cross generational communication, succession planning.

• Abstracts are limited to 500 words Maximum.
• Abstracts shall include presentation title, format, and key learning objectives.
• Provide presenter(s) names and affiliation(s).
