Marygrace Parker serves as the Freight Program Director and Interim TSMO Program Director for The Eastern Transportation Coalition (TETC), a consortium of state departments of transportation; port, toll, and bridge authorities; metropolitan planning organizations; and related transportation agencies from Maine to Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, and West Virginia. She oversees the Coalition’s initiatives working with states and industry partners to address freight mobility, safety, and resiliency across boundaries and to bring the trucking industry’s perspectives to this work, including addressing truck parking, improving safety and event notifications to commercial vehicles, electric/alternative fuel adoption, and examining alternative financing models. In her interim role as TSMO Director, she is supporting TETC member agencies by collaborating and coordinating strategies to address safety and mobility in the areas of incident management, traveler information, as well as emergency operations and congestion management through in-person events, webinars, and project initiatives. During her tenure with the Coalition, Marygrace has served in a number of staff positions, including as the Operations/Traffic Incident Management/Highway Operations group program manager (now TETC’s TSMO group). Prior to joining the Coalition, she served as Director, Traffic Management for the New York State Thruway Authority, where she oversaw several bureaus and programs including the Authority’s Traffic Operations Bureau, ITS deployment initiatives, co-located NYSTA and NY State Police communications and dispatch (now TMC) center, and passenger and commercial vehicle safety initiatives. Before her work at NYSTA, Marygrace served as a uniformed member/Sergeant in the New York State Police, where she commanded a patrol station.
